Obama pays homage to MLK

Last night in Barack’s speech he paid homage to MLK in his speech…. We need to understand that “Now is the time!” There are a lot of things that Barack can put into play but WE have to understand that WE are the ones that have to make the change!!!

WE NEED TO KNOW THAT OUR VOICES DO COUNT AND THAT WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE REGISTER TO VOTE AND VOTE!!!!!!!!! Obama voter registration click here!!! MAKE THE DIFFERENCE THAT YOU WANT TO SEE IN OUR FUTURE!!!!!! Check out the parts of his speech that referenced back to MLK’s. . .

Barack Obama’s Speech:

“Now is the time to end this addiction, and to understand that drilling is a stop-gap measure, not a long-term solution. Not even close…. Now is the time to finally meet our moral obligation to provide every child a world-class education, because it will take nothing less to compete in the global economy….Now is the time to finally keep the promise of affordable, accessible health care for every single American. If you have health care, my plan will lower your premiums….Now is the time to help families with paid sick days and better family leave, because nobody in America should have to choose between keeping their jobs and caring for a sick child or ailing parent…..Now is the time to change our bankruptcy laws, so that your pensions are protected ahead of CEO bonuses; and the time to protect social security for future generations…..And now is the time to keep the promise of equal pay for an equal day’s work, because I want my daughters to have exactly the same opportunities as your sons……Now, many of these plans will cost money, which is why I’ve laid out how I’ll pay for every dime - by closing corporate loopholes and tax havens that don’t help America grow.”

Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream Speech’:

“It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked “insufficient funds.” But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. New T-Pain feat Lil Wayne

I saw this video the other night and I love this song even more now…. T-Pain did it again, I’m loving his originality and his expression….It reminds me of the video that Micheal Jackson did and his was riding a roller coaster through I thought it was Neverland but who knows; my music genuis Maestro let me know it’s “Leave Me Alone”

I was sleepy so the video looked crazy to me (but a good crazy, lol), so I’m wondering what this video would look to someone who got ‘high’… ;-)

Talk About Doing to Much

Now this is a classic example of doing too much…Damon Dash and his wife, fashion designer Rachel Roy, are in danger of losing their two Manhattan apartments to foreclosure. (Why do you need two apartments in the same city?)

“According to bank filings, Dash and Roy owe $7.3 million on the two properties and foreclosure proceedings have begun. Dash and Roy has failed to pay monthly mortgage payments of $78,500 on the two pricey properties since Jan 2008.” (So that’s 7 months, wow, I didn’t know that mortgage companies gave you that much time to pay?!)

Regardless, Roy’s been struggling to keep her company afloat in a our jacked up economy. And who knows what Dash does for a living after he sold his stock in Roc-A-Fella Records and Roc-A-Wear to former business partner Jay-Z.

This is a shame I mean is it that serious to keep up with the ‘Jone’s’ that you risk getting humiliated by the media for not paying? Inquiring minds want to know… :-(

America’s Next Top Model Cycle 11 The 2 hour premiere is Sept 3, 2008… Tune In! Here’s a sneak peek at this season’s aspiring models. I must admit that the flyer is very “FREE” so that might elude to some of the chics that were chosen for this season… Honestly, Diddy did it on his show “I Want to Work for Diddy” so why not Tyra!?!

Isis, a transgender finalist, was also featured on Cycle 10’s “Homeless” episode as an extra. So I’m just wondering how would you feel living with a transgender? I mean I know that ‘it is what it is’ but at one point you were a man or you still are, whatever it is a lil confusing but do you still check out chics? I mean I’m not hating at all I was just wondering would you be completely comfortable? Honestly, she might be more of a chic than some chics but let me know what you think.

Usain Bolt (born 21 August 1986) is a Jamaican sprinter. He is the reigning Olympic champion over 100 meters and holds both world and Olympic 100 meters records with a time of 9.69 seconds. Bolt is also the world junior record holder in the 200 meters (19.93 seconds), and Jamaican national record holder in the 200 meters (19.67 seconds). His name and achievements in sprinting have earned him the media nickname “Lightning Bolt”.

* Jamaica’s Usain Bolt sets 100m world record of 9.72 seconds in New York
* Fellow-Jamaican Asafa Powell held the previous world record of 9.74 seconds
* World champion Tyson Gay of United States finishes second in 9.85 seconds

Disrespect

What do you do if you feel like you are being disrespected? Do you get mad and keep it to yourself? Or do you stand your ground and let the person/people know how you are feeling?

I have choose to “learn from the situation!” I have noticed that this is going to happen and I can either put the energy into it or I can place the energy somewhere more productive! I know that I’m going to get disrespect from all over, this is the world that we live in, but I also know that I have the power to let it effect me in a positive or negative way.

When I am disrespected by someone I will remind myself that if I become offended or feel disrespected then it is only my ego that is offended/feeling disrespected.

Depending on the type of situation, this can be easy or difficult so I have begun to develop an awareness and catch myself if I become offended and bring myself back from that negative place. I will see it as a matter of practice as it is a skill that needs developement.

I will keep my heart open and smile (”the kill them with kindness”) therefore changing the energetic dynamic within myself and hopefully into the situation. I am the one who holds the power and I can turn it round into a positive and productive situation.

However, I am still human and sometimes I succumb to the common failures, but through developing an awareness off my reaction to such energy it is becoming less of a personal issue and more of an opportunity to practice, develop, grow and enrich both myself and my “offenders!”

So if you feel you have to disrespect me and my loved ones, do what you feel is necessary just know that I am above it all. . . Maybe one day, when you are above it all, you can meet me in the clouds!

Please be aware of the company that you keep in your inner circle, from friends to financial advisor’s there are those that are straight out to get you. . . Case in point:

Check out this article on my VA native, Mike Vick. . .
“Banks in Toronto; South Bend, Ind., and Charlotte, N.C., demanded repayment of more than $6 million in loans used to finance a car rental business, a wine enterprise and other ventures. A sports marketing company that he hired and fired even before he was drafted in 2001 hounded him for another $5 million in lost fees. And he faced breach of contract charges on two other deals.”

With all these folks hounding him (lol) and all the BAD decisions he has made because of his ‘Inner Circle’ he might want to stay in jail!!! ;-)

Busy Doing Nothing

When you want the world to slow down so that you can just sit back and breath again of course it speeds up to nine times too fast!

I have always wanted to stay productive but you know we all have those days when we want to do nothing at all, so I say I’m busy but in all actuality “I’m busy doing nothing!”

Stay focused and have less days like this and more days working on your ultimate goal in life!
