Joi was born in Hampton, VA on July 4th. Her ethnicity consists of a mix of African American, Native American and Filipino.

After college she moved to Atlanta, GA in 2002. The transition was a difficult one for her because she had never been away from her family for more than a few hours. Multiple trips back and forth from Atlanta to Hampton, vice versa for her family, she began to stand on her own two feet. At the age of 24, her father passed away suddenly experiencing an aneurysm in his sleep and then a massive stroke. It was at that point in her life in which she had to become a stronger individual, not only for herself but for the rest of her family. She learned so much from him! Though she learned how to be strong it was and still is devastating losing a father.

Modeling and photography are two of the many goals she is pursuing. She is loves the fashion industry and she believes both are an art form in which you do not just get it overnight. Her personality is what makes her stand out in the industry. Not only does she have the looks and a body but she also has personality, courage and the determination to always win!

She is very outgoing, outspoken, spontaneous, goal-oriented and easy to get along with. With a degree in Marketing she knows exactly what she has to do to Market herself. Realizing that there are plenty of pretty faces in the industry she is aware of her good assets, her best being her exuberating personality! Her father always re-instilled in her that beauty is not only on the outside but more importantly it is who you are on the inside! Beauty can be taken away from you but if you are beautiful on the inside then you will always win!
