Obama pays homage to MLK

Last night in Barack’s speech he paid homage to MLK in his speech…. We need to understand that “Now is the time!” There are a lot of things that Barack can put into play but WE have to understand that WE are the ones that have to make the change!!!

WE NEED TO KNOW THAT OUR VOICES DO COUNT AND THAT WE NEED TO MAKE SURE THAT WE REGISTER TO VOTE AND VOTE!!!!!!!!! Obama voter registration click here!!! MAKE THE DIFFERENCE THAT YOU WANT TO SEE IN OUR FUTURE!!!!!! Check out the parts of his speech that referenced back to MLK’s. . .

Barack Obama’s Speech:

Martin Luther King’s ‘I Have a Dream Speech’:

“It is obvious today that America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned. Instead of honoring this sacred obligation, America has given the Negro people a bad check, a check which has come back marked “insufficient funds.” But we refuse to believe that the bank of justice is bankrupt. We refuse to believe that there are insufficient funds in the great vaults of opportunity of this nation. So we have come to cash this check — a check that will give us upon demand the riches of freedom and the security of justice. We have also come to this hallowed spot to remind America of the fierce urgency of now. This is no time to engage in the luxury of cooling off or to take the tranquilizing drug of gradualism. Now is the time to make real the promises of democracy. Now is the time to rise from the dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. Fastest Man In the World, Go Jamaica!

Usain Bolt (born 21 August 1986) is a Jamaican sprinter. He is the reigning Olympic champion over 100 meters and holds both world and Olympic 100 meters records with a time of 9.69 seconds. Bolt is also the world junior record holder in the 200 meters (19.93 seconds), and Jamaican national record holder in the 200 meters (19.67 seconds). His name and achievements in sprinting have earned him the media nickname “Lightning Bolt”.

* Fellow-Jamaican Asafa Powell held the previous world record of 9.74 seconds
* World champion Tyson Gay of United States finishes second in 9.85 seconds

Busy Doing Nothing

When you want the world to slow down so that you can just sit back and breath again of course it speeds up to nine times too fast!

I have always wanted to stay productive but you know we all have those days when we want to do nothing at all, so I say I’m busy but in all actuality “I’m busy doing nothing!”

Stay focused and have less days like this and more days working on your ultimate goal in life!

It’s Not As Bad As It Seems

Calm Down

Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”

So many times we make situations more than they are due to our anxiety, CALM DOWN! God has your life under control; He knows how to handle even the seemingly complex situation with ease.

Stop having pity parties and talking about your business all the time; don’t you know that the power of death and life is in the tongue! Stop speaking negative things into existence in your life and in others. When you look at your situations through your eyes, you often read more into the situation than what is there. It’s not as bad as you think particularly if God is in your life; Stop over analyzing your life.

Be courageous

2 Timothy 1:7 - “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of Love, and of a sound mind.”

Fear is not of God. Have the courage to step out on faith and do the seemingly impossible. Start your own business; go into the ministry; apply for that promotion; anything that you’ve been afraid to do and you know that God has called you to do - JUST DO IT!

Have confidence

Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.”

Remember, greater is He that’s within you than he that’s in the world. You have the power of the most High God working in you, and you have His Son steadily making intercession for you. You have nothing to worry about! Walk with your head up! You say you have low self-esteem; somebody told you that you’d never amount to anything; the devil is a liar! Know that you are somebody not because Jesus said it, but because you are a child of The King!

Walk in the VICTORY !

Romans 8:28 - “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.”

Does anything else need to be said? The jury has been out and the verdict is in - YOU WIN!

God has already worked it out for you. It may not come the way you think it should come (or when you think it should), but remember - He’s working it out for “YOUR” good (in His time).

Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps, if you are not willing to move your feet.

Be Blessed TODAY !!

God determines who walks into your life, it’s up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay, and who you refuse to let go.

Diddy’s Trump Card

Here he goes again, Diddy is never to far with a Reality Show “I Want to Work for Diddy” premiered this Monday at 9pm. The purpose of the show is 12 Contestants will try to manipulate, fight, claw, bleed and as one of the contestants mentioned, “Kill” for a chance to be Diddy’s personal assistant! Diddy is expecting people to do 50 tasks in 24 hrs because if Diddy can’t sleep neither can you! This man will cuss, fuss, yell, insult you and drives the contestants (and even his REAL workers) to insanity and beyond just for a chance to be a “personal assistant!” According to the people that DO work for him (and of all of his former assistants)…they have to give up everything cause its not allowed in his world to be able to have a life outside of his!

Sidebar- Those who have seen the show know that there is a Trans gender woman, Lavern, on the show, I’m not upset about this at all but what I am upset about is how nice Lavern looks versus some of the “REAL” woman on the show. I mean her hair is laid, her make up is hot (it looks like she was a Mac MUA before), her outfit is tight and not once did she complain about her feet hurting! I mean not to diss the girl who had her breasts all out, but she did fuss about her feet hurtin not to be outdone by PO-Oprah (Po’ Oprah) who is 250 pounds and she did not complain!
I like Kendra, I thought she was a lot of fun and she has a spunky attitude, not sure how this is going to work for her in the end but good luck!

Mirrored iPhone?!

Not embarrassed to admit that I ooh-la-la’ed one non-tech spec about the LG Shine, which LC expertly demonstrated: the fact that it makes an awesome mirror. But since I don’t need a new phone, I have found a way to make my iPhone do double-duty: the Echo mirrored iPhone case, just $13. It doesn’t look available for the iPhone 3G just yet, so 1st gen users, enjoy, and 3G users — just shine it up extra good for the reflection.

VERIZON: I “DARE” you…

Verizon DareI think I have fallen in LOVE again… with this new phone and I’m soooo excited because it’s so user friendly and is full of features! Full Touch, 3.2 Mega Pixel Camera, Navigator (though I have this on my NV), V Cast Video etc.
I can actually take a picture and upload it directly to my blog or I can crop it and I can write something cute on the pic before I send it…

Now it might not be an Apple I-Phone but…

the best part is I’m on an UNLIMITED plan so I can be on it and not feel bad! Though I don’t talk on the phone too much I might as well not get lost and look great when I do! Thanks VERIZON! ;-)
